Due to redevelopment, it was necessary to relocate the green space on the exterior of the building to the rooftop, but as there were no other examples of greening on the roof of a building over 200m high, there were concerns that the greening system would be blown away by wind pressure and that the plants would wither. Square Turf Light has been used in many rooftop greening projects on skyscrapers, and was chosen because the greening system could be fixed to the floor with screws. However, as the floor at the site was made of concrete that was over 50 years old, screw pull-out tests were conducted on-site to determine whether it would be possible to install it without damaging the waterproofing layer and withstand a maximum negative pressure of 7400N/m.2The screw drilling depth and screw length were selected and installed to ensure the above. The construction was carried out based on a fail-safe concept, with safety being taken into consideration, such as securing a temporary material storage area on the rooftop where materials would not be blown away even if a sudden gust of wind hit the site. In addition, an irrigation system was adopted to ensure that the plants would grow well even in the super-high-rise building, with three irrigation controllers installed to take into account differences in direction (sunlight) and transpiration rates of the plants.
