Outline
Construction of the new building began with the aim of creating a "Green Government Building" (a government facility that will serve as a model for environmental conservation measures that take into consideration the reduction of environmental impact throughout its life cycle costs, from planning to construction, operation and disposal, in accordance with the principles of the Basic Environment Law).
The rooftop garden features decorative plants along the walkway, and benches and counters have been installed to create a "government building like a park." In November 30, the building was awarded the Kanagawa Global Environment Award in the global warming countermeasures category, sponsored by the Kanagawa Global Environmental Conservation Promotion Council.
