Families are the component elements that make up an architectural model in Revit. Each family is categorized and can be set to have different types with different external shapes and attribute information.
Manufacturing parts are a group of parts with attribute information specifically designed for the manufacture of machinery and piping systems, constructed using Fabrication CADMEP. They can be imported into Revit project data and managed as separate part elements from families.
